ATC-2000 Controller
The ATC-2000 is the rack-mounted version of Oriux’s ATC controller, designed to be modular and compatible with the widest range of traffic controller standards worldwide. It emphasizes ease of use and adaptability, making it an ideal solution for diverse traffic management needs.
Advanced Hardware and Connectivity
This controller features Oriux’s latest ATC engine board and offers a comprehensive suite of communication options, including multiple serial ports, Ethernet ports, USB ports, and a variety of input/output configurations. It builds on the capabilities of the ATC-1000, packaged into a form factor compatible with standard cabinet racks.
Compact and Versatile Form Factor
Measuring just 4 inches in height and 17 inches in width (43.2 cm), with 19-inch wide mounting brackets (28.3 cm), the ATC-2000 fits a variety of standard cabinet styles. It is compatible with CalTrans 330 cabinets as well as Oriux’s ASTC-12 Central Business District cabinet, which has been successfully deployed in cities like New York, San Salvador, and Ecuador.
Flexible Programming Options
The ATC-2000 can be fully programmed through multiple methods: directly from the front panel, via USB data downloads, ATC Link® direct connections, or through Oriux’s central systems, IQ Central and Spinnaker, using serial or Ethernet connections. This versatility allows for seamless integration in various traffic control environments.
Innovative Traffic Engine Capabilities
Uniquely, Oriux’s ATC controllers incorporate both interval-based and phase-based (NEMA) traffic engines running side-by-side. The ATC-2000 allows users to switch between these two modes on the fly, with only a brief, programmable pause during Red Rest operation, providing unmatched flexibility.
Compatibility and Future-Ready Design
This Oriux controller supports NTCIP communications protocols. It is also fully compatible with Spinnaker traffic management systems as well as other NTCIP-based platforms. Powered by a 300MHz Freescale Power Quix 2 processor, it includes easy firmware update capabilities, ensuring it remains current with the latest Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) management schemes and algorithms.
Display and User Interface
The ATC-2000 features a 40-character by 16-line backlit LCD, designed for clear visibility. An optional heater is available to ensure reliable operation in cold environments. The controller also includes a 32-key soft-touch keypad, providing an intuitive and user-friendly interface for front-panel programming.
Operating System and Memory Management
Powered by a Linux operating system, the controller benefits from advanced memory management that enables process isolation. This architecture enhances system stability and security by preventing interference between running applications.
Communication and Connectivity
The ATC-2000 is compliant with NTCIP standards 1201 and 1202, ensuring seamless communication and integration with traffic management systems. It includes an ATC 5201 modem slot for communication expansion. Additionally, it includes four independent 100 Base-T Ethernet ports that provide robust and reliable network connectivity. Additionally, two high-speed USB ports are available to support external devices and data transfer.
Protocol Support
This controller supports a wide range of NTCIP communication protocols, making it fully compatible with popular central management software such as Oriux’s Spinnaker, TranSuite, and MIST. This ensures flexible and efficient control in various traffic environments.
